Sandbox platform for anticipatory humanitarian action
Welcome to the EU Space Sandbox platform for anticipatory humanitarian action. This platform serves as a demonstration environment to help users understand the potential of the European Union Space Programme (EU Space) in supporting proactive humanitarian efforts .
Anticipatory humanitarian action – acting before a disaster strikes – is a crucial approach to saving lives and reducing losses. The EU Space Programme provides powerful tools to shift from reactive crisis response to proactive risk mitigation, enhancing preparedness, coordination, and the efficient allocation of resources.
This platform is an initiative of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) to support the use of EU Space data in anticipatory humanitarian action. It enables users to explore, visualize, and test Earth Observation data relevant to real-world crises. NGOs, decision-makers, and emergency responders can interact with predefined crisis scenarios, manipulate geospatial datasets, and extract actionable insights through satellite-driven analytics.
